Because polyurethane is unaffected by oil, smog, road salt, and most chemicals, it doesn't soften, compress, or distort like rubber does. So when you turn the steering wheel, take a high-speed corner, or hit some potholes, these bushings will give you the ride of your life.
Note.. in the original 1973 & 74 series for your information.....LOWER ARM BUSHES ARE THE THE THING TO STUDY.
In CAMARO's & some Firebirds - if still fitted with the original lower control arms ...... this year has a choice of TWO different LOWER front control arm bush sizes
Kit# 3.302 has 4 uppers shells is OD 33.5/33.03 thinner OD . Length of shell 34mm. Lower Type 1: OD 42.4, length 52.5,Type 2: OD 36.3/34.4 on the thinner OD, Length 53.8mm..,
- Kit # 3.3103 has 1 & 5/8 Lower Front bushes. - 1973 Camaro & Firebird TA
Kit # 3.3104 has 1 & 3/8" Lower Front - 1973 Camaro with 1 3/8 Lower Front
KIT # 3.3105.. 1974-79 - has 48mm Larger lower and 42 mm smaller lower. Uppers are no issue. Keep in mind around this build era and given the 40+ years most of these cars have been around .. mongrel things may have happenned and a control arms of any year as any WILL FIT from the entire 1970-81 series...but have different bushings for whatever reasons the engineers of the day decided. NOTE.. the UPPER FRONT BUSHES on late 74-79. are 35.6mm OD and have 4 raised locating lugs.. thats different to the earlier bushes. The upper rears are 34mm like all the other earlier ones.. It's just the servicing bushes that change. the holes sizes change. Any control arm must be fitted with the right bushes for THAT arm.. from the range of different sizes. Although this effects maybe 1 in 4 rebuilds... its stems back to some boofhead not interested in longer term correctness.. but just getting it back on the road etc. and using anything that fitted.
Kit 3.3106 is for 1980-81 models and has lower bushes that are 45mm od and 37.5 od.
Upper bushes are the same in '73-74 Series.
